Updates
More often than not, you can tweak your computer with some minor updates. Microsoft Windows loves updates for example. We often see windows computers come in needing serious updates to the operating system.
While Microsoft Windows itself attempts to do these on its own automatically, there are circumstances which can cause them to fail or just halt. Including user ‘interference’.
Upgrades
If you’ve kept your operating system (Windows) up to date, and your system is still running slow, then it’s entirely possible your hardware is just having problems with the newly updated but older software.
Each and every update adds some “girth” to the software. As time passes and Windows updates, it slowly requires more storage space, and even operating memory. That robust 4GB or even 8GB from four, six or even eight years ago may not give you the performance it once had.
At this point we need to carefully evaluate your needs, and the computer itself to ensure you get the best value for your budget. Nine times out of ten, best value is a newer computer with your data copied over. Warning however, software doesn’t always install properly over both time and differing release versions.
